Since the release of iOS 5, developers have been going at it trying to untether jailbreak it, but so far we have only got a tethered jailbreak meaning you`ll have to connect your device to the PC every time you reboot and a Semi-tethered jailbreak developed by BigBoss which was an attempt at a step closer to untethered jailbreak. Semi-tethered jailbreak allows you to reboot your device while you are away from your computer. Definitely a life saver ,but not without caveats.
Today, Pod2g, a member of the Chronic Dev team tweeted some good news claiming that he has discovered a bug that can untether jailbreak iOS 5.
The bug Pod2g will not jailbreak iPad 2 or iPhone 4S.It will only convert a tethered jailbroken iOS 5 into an untethered one.
A near release is still not to be expected. The dev team is working hard on bring it out to light, but for now, we`ll have to wait more good news.
We`ll keep you posted.
