A lot of iPhone 4S have been complaining of a failed Siri activation. It seems that Siri has troubles connecting to the network, and experiencing downtime.

The downtime started this morning and was reported on Twitter. It was reported that the service activated correctly but no able to connect to the network to process voice commands which was quite disappointing for many. Turns out it`s not a server issue and here`s the fix:

  1. Go to Settings > General > Siri, and turn Siri off, then wait a few seconds
  2. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Your phone will take a few seconds to reboot
  3. Go to Settings > General > Siri, and turn Siri back on, then wait a few seconds.

Important: There’s also an Apple discussion thread about the issue here. One user there suggested disabling the feature, rebooting the phone, then re-enabling Siri, however it seems inconclusive whether that helps those affected by the issue.
