Energous’ Contactless Charging System Gets FCC Approval

Energous is a little known startup based in San Jose that’s been working on contactless wireless charging for a little over 3 years now. Wireless charging today requires the device to be placed on a mat or a holder to charge. Sure it’s without wires, but you still have to place it correctly for it to work. But Energous’ solution plans to change that by allowing devices to be charged at a distance of up to 3 feet, without wires.
