In the suicide bombing incident at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, UK, an iPhone has been credited with saving the life of a critically injured woman. A nut that came straight at woman’s cheek was said to have ‘diverted and slowed’ down by the iPhone, saving the woman from life-threatening injuries.

The moment blast went off, the woman was using the iPhone to make a call. The nut first went through hr iPhone, reports BBC.

Lisa Bridgett, of Pwllheli, had been using the phone after the Ariana Grande concert on Monday when the explosion caused a steel nut to hit her. She lost a middle finger before the nut went through her phone and her cheek, ending up lodged in her nose.

Her husband said the phone probably diverted and slowed down the nut.

While, in such situations, no one can know what would have happened if the nut would not have hit the iPhone first before penetrating the cheek of the woman. The extensive damage shown on the iPhone does suggest that the iPhone would surely have added some resistance to slow down the nut to at least some degree, likely resulting in reducing the severity of the overall injuries.

Bridgett experience multiple injuries during the blast, including a large wound on her thigh and a fractured ankle for which she required surgery.

It is not the first time we are hearing about iPhone saving the life of its user. The iPhone have saved its user on numerous similar occasions in the past. iPhone has saved the life of a student during an armed robbery. an iPhone 5c has also saved a gunshot victim among numerous other cases.
