If you’re a user of Facebook, there’s more than likely a high probability that you’ve come across the “Events” section, which tallies a variety of content, from concerts, to parties, to whatever else might be happening on a specific date.

According to Facebook, over 100 million daily users use the Events function on Facebook, which apparently means the company has deemed it essential to launch another standalone app. So, here we are, with a brand new, standalone “Events” app for iOS. It works like the standard Events platform in the regular Facebook app, or on the desktop: You can browse the events that are taking place in your town or nearby, and you can say you’re going to that event or not.

Here’s how it works:
When you open Events, you can quickly catch up on new events your friends are interested in, recently-announced events by the Pages you like, and updates from events you’re already connected to.

Events is rolling out for iOS beginning today, and it will be available for Android soon.
