The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus should go on sale Friday, September 16, meaning Apple will be collecting pre-orders for the device for about a week following today’s unveiling. September 16 retail availability for the device was mentioned Wednesday by Italin outlet iPhoneItalia.it, based on suspected photographs showing alleged iPhone 7 box design. On a related note, web reports out of China are claiming that the iPhone 7 is now shipping out to various countries in preparation for launch.

The source of the leak suggests that Apple will be launching the iPhone 7 in Italy on September 16th. The handset will be available through Apple’s retail stores as well Italian carriers TIM, 3, and Vodafone, though stock is expected to be “very limited” with the carriers.

Separate sources of iPhoneitalia also confirmed that batches of iPhone shipments have started shipping worldwide, with retail stores expected to receive the stock over the next few days to prepare for the September 16th launch.
