A report from BGR claims that Apple Stores in the United States have started receiving stocks of the Apple Watch for sale to customers. The smartwatch will be sold to customers through in-store reservations for personal pickup, though customers will need to order their unit from Apple’s website itself.

When the Apple Watch initially launched, Apple was forced to sell the watch through its online store due to supply constraints. With the production of the smartwatch picking up pace gradually, Apple has been able to catch up to the backlog of Apple Watch orders, and is now in a position to sell the watch directly through retail stores in the United States. The company will also be launching the Apple Watch in 7 new countries later this month.

“The response to Apple Watch has surpassed our expectations in every way, and we are thrilled to bring it to more customers around the world,” said Jeff Williams, Apple’s senior vice president of Operations. “We’re also making great progress with the backlog of Apple Watch orders, and we thank our customers for their patience. All orders placed through May, with the sole exception of Apple Watch 42 mm Space Black Stainless Steel with Space Black Link Bracelet, will ship to customers within two weeks. At that time, we’ll also begin selling some models in our Apple Retail Stores.”

Apple had mentioned in its press release from earlier this month that it will start selling certain models of the Apple Watch in its retail stores in the United States within two weeks time. So, shipments of Apple Watch arriving at Apple’s retail stores in the United States seems just about right. It is now just a matter of hours or maybe a day before the Apple Watch is officially available for in-store pickup for customers. However, the variants that will be available for pickup remain unknown at the moment.

As a gift for all interested Apple Watch buyers who have waited for its retail availability, Apple will be having a special Apple Watch bags for them. The bag will have a high quality feel to them and will come with rope handles that match the color band of the Apple Watch being sold.
