After the great succession of Pangu untethered jailbreak for iOS 7.1/7.1.1 which is developed and made by a group of Chinese hackers, it looks like that many users have been reporting bootloop issues when they restart their iOS device which has been jailbroken using the Pangu iOS 7.1 – iOS 7.1.1 jailbreak.

Today we’ve got a fix for this issue and thanks to a reddit user who posted a weird solution to fix the issue. He writes:

I have an iPhone 4 and i did jailbreak with Pangu. I have bootloop everytimes i try to restart my phone.
I KNOW THIS SOUND CRAZY, but it seems like a bug caused by light sensor. If your phone is in the dark you will get stuck in the bootloop. If you point a flashlight above the light sensor, boot goes well. This also works if you get stuck on “Pangu welcome screen”.

It certainly sounds crazy, but a number of users on the reddit thread have confirmed that the solution does indeed work. Interestingly, based on the responses in the reddit thread, it looks like the issue is affecting quite a few iPhone 4 users.

Here’s how to fix it:
