Apple is expected to release the iOS 8 on June 2nd at the World Wide Developers Conference 2014 (WWDC) in San Francisco. So with less than a month left, we take a look at most wanted features in the upcoming firmware.

Actionable or interactive notifications:

The banner notifications at the moment, as well as the iOS Notification Center notifications, inform us about new notifications. However, tapping these notifications launches the required app. But you have to use the app switcher to get back to the app you were using before. Productivity would be improved if notifications were actionable or interactive, and don’t force you to leave the app you’re using. It could be with:

Messages:

When users receive a message notification, they should be given an option to delete the message or reply directly from the notification without leaving the app in use.

FaceTime

When you get FaceTime calls, you should be able to decline or accept the call, or reply with an iMessage or set a reminder from the Notification.

Mail

In case of the Mail application, you should be able to directly reply to the email or delete an email from the notification without leaving the current app. We also hope Apple will enable developers to support the feature for third-party applications, so that it can be used with applications such as Facebook and WhatsApp.
