We are still impatiently awaiting Pod2g`s iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak, and we got some good news on the matter. Pod2g`s iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak now supports 3rd generation iPods and iPhones. Why is that big news? Because these devices were originally excluded because the Kernel vulnerability used for the jailbreak on these devices didnt work on iPod3G and iPhone 3GS.

Good news. We’ve found a way through for iPod 3G and iPhone 3Gs users. Upcoming jailbreak will be compatible.

Devices that have been tested and guaranteed to work:

  • iPhone 4
  • iPhone 4S
  • iPad 1
  • iPad 2 Wifi
  • iPad 3 Wifi
  • iPad 3 CDMA
  • iPod 3G
  • iPod 4G

Devices that have yet to be tested, but should work:

  • iPhone 3GS
  • iPad 2 GSM
  • iPad 2 CDMA
  • iPad 2 Wifi, R2
  • iPad 3 Global
  • Apple TV 2

Devices that won’t work:

  • Apple TV 3

Really we are a very lucky people because the jailbreak will support too many important devices like iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S.. Thanks god, just at this moment there is the Apple TV 3 which there is no jailbreak for it yet.. Also Pod2G didn’t give us a specific ETA for the public release he only said “In the upcoming few weeks”.. So we will keep you updated with any news from him, Stay tuned..
