If you`re an iPhone 4S owner, then you probably have first-hand experience with the most annoying bug in iOS 5, the quick battery drainage issue. Users noticed a their iPhones battery were draining really fast on iOS 5 compared to iOS 4. The issue lingered and fixes were presented. Even Apple admitted to the problem and started engaged users to discover the source for the problem and finally released iOS 5. 0.1.

A sigh of relief !! Not so fast. iOS 5.0.1 didn’t bring a fix and the issue remained and users had to wait still for Apple to figure it out.

Apple has a couple of days ago seeded the new software update iOS 5.1 to developers promising a battery drainage issue fix. Well, don`t get your hopes up. A number of users who have been using the software for a few days now agreed the battery issue is still there. It might even be worse than before.

It`s worth noting that few reports suggested that performing a DFU restore and then using an iCloud backup to restore all data would improve the battery performance. Pepole have also reported they had to perform an iCloud backup each time they update iOS to a new release.

We`re still waiting for more users to confirm, but if the issue indeed lingers, Apple will be dealing with a lot of bemused and impatient customers.
