Apple released final version of iOS 5.0.1 two days ago. This version promised many problems fixes, the most prominent of which is the battery life quick drainage problem. Apple released this version before the launch the first time to developers to test the performance of the bug fixes.

It intended and the overall performance. Then it was released once more to specific end users to test the battery drainage issue fix. However, after the official release, users reported that the battery drainage issue remains which was disappointing.

New update is no help at all. I opened Safari and lost 2 % just by opening it.
Upgraded to 5.0.1 this morning. Still draining at the exact same rate. Unplugged with a full charge 2 1/2 hours ago, and already down to 80% with light usage. Just lost 2% during a 15 minute shower. I see no difference at all.
Same here.
Updated about 1.5 hours ago, battery has drained 20% since then with no usage! This is awful!

Roughly the same numbers here. Today, Apple issued a statement confirming that the battery Save Now drainage issue has indeed not been fixed by the new release.

“The recent iOS software update addressed many of the battery issues that some customers experienced on their iOS 5 devices. We continue to investigate a few remaining issues.”

Apple is still trying to figure out what the reason is .Hopefully that will be very soon.
