Who haven`t heard about Siri before? I will take a wild guess here and say no one. Be you an iPhone owner or not, you must have heard about the intelligent voice control that helps you make calls, send text messages, read emails, set reminders and answer you inquiries.
We heard some news a couple of days ago about Apple testing Siri on iPhone 4. Every older iPhone models owner got anxious for Apple to be done with its tests so they would finally have it on their iPhone. However, we explained how it would be almost impossible that Apple might think about bringing the feature for iPhone 4 simply because Apple is a hardware selling company which means iPhone 4 users won`t be getting it any time soon or late for that matter.
Apple confirmed our hypothesis in a reply email sent to developer Michael Steeper who suggested that Apple should release a special paid build of iOS 5.0.1 that supports Siri for iPhone 4 and iPod 4G. Dissapointing enough, Apple turned this request down.
The Engineering division in Apple replied “Siri only works on iPhone 4S and we currently have no plans to support older devices“.
I guess older iPhone devices cut a clear cut answer for now. Yet that doesn’t mean jailbreakers and developers would stop trying.
