A new report mentions that Apple has joined Bain Capital in its bid to purchase Toshiba’s NAND flash memory business. It is said that Bain Capital has raised Â¥2.2 trillion ($18.2 billion) towards the acquisition, which includes an 18% investment or Â¥400 billion ($3.62 billion) from Apple. It was previously reported that Apple, Dell, and Google were part of a consortium formed by Foxconn to acquire Toshiba’s NAND business, although nothing came of that.
