Apple today unveiled the Apple TV 4, providing a much needed refresh to its media player. First unveiled as a prototype iTV device during Apple’s “It’s Showtime” event in September 2006, the Apple TV first went on sale in Q1 2007. In the intervening years, Apple has released three revisions of the media player and has sold 25 million Apple TV units in that time.
