Apple has just released iOS 7.1 IPSW links for all iDevices. Apart from the CarPlay feature, recently released by Apple, the new firmware brings several enhancements, general performance upgrades and bug fixes.

Several reliable sources were pointing towards a Mid-March release, but If today’s release is anything to go by, it has arrived earlier than expected. After 5 GM beta releases, which gave a glimpse on CarPlay feature before Apple decided to announce it at Geneva Motor Show, the firmware is now ready.

If you’re currently running an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch with iOS 7, then it’s possible for you to get involved with the latest mobile firmware build.

There are no hidden surprises, so it’s safe to call it a refined version of the previous beta released. With CarPlay, and some bug fixes, it is still worth to download it.

But jailbreakers are recommended to stay away as evasi0n7 has been completely patched by Apple in iOS 7.1.

  • Siri in iOS 7.1 lets you manually control when she listens by holding down the Home button while you speak and letting it go when you’re done

  • you can now use a new ‘Darken Colors’ option under the Increase Contrast section of the Accessibility tab
  • the Phone app has a new-look dialer
  • you can disable Parallax effect independently of other animations when setting up wallpaper
  • iCloud Keychain is supported in additional countries.
