| Jailbreak iOS 6 |
The RedSn0w 0.9.15b2 jailbreaks iOS 6 on all A4 devices such as the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and
the iPod touch 4G. It works with the iPhone 4S as well.
Note: For the A4 devices, it is an tethered jailbreak that means you will need to connect it with
your computer every time you reboot it.
For the 3GS however, the jailbreak is untethered and
there is no need to connect it with your computer for every reboot.
Before you start:
Download Redsn0W 0.9.15b2 for Windows Or
Download Redsn0W 0.9.15b2 for Mac
Step 1: We will assume you have an iDevice running iOS 6 (Download From HERE). (If you are using UltraSn0w or Gevey
SIM, you will need to make sure you update the iOS 6 without updating the baseband.)
Step 2: Run RedSn0W in Administer mode. (Right click on the icon for windows users, Mac users
can use the Ctrl-Click and open for the OS X Mountain Lion.)
Step 3: Check to see if you iDevice is connected, and click the Jailbreak button.
Step 4: Turn your device off, and click on next.
Step 5: Follow the on-screen instruction in order to enter DFU mode (Release the power
button for 3 seconds, without releasing the power button, hold on the Home button for
10seconds, without releasing the home button press the power button and hold onto
the home button until RedSn0w detects the device).
Step 6: Let RedSn0w do its work, it will exploit the iDevice with limera1n and then it will
prepare for jailbreak.
Step 7: Select Install Cydia from the options and click on next. The device will reboot and
RedSn0w will upload the new RAM Disk and Kernel.
Step 8: You will get a dialogue box saying that the jailbreak is tethered. You will now need to do
a tethered boot.
Step 9: Re-run RedSn0w.
Step 10: Go to extras, and select ‘just boot’.
Step 11: Click on next and follow the instructions to boot into DFU mode.
That’s all you need to do.
Your iDevice is now jailbroken, simply use RedSn0w when you want to
boot your device by selecting the ‘Just boot’ option.
