- iPhone should not be in an active AT&T term commitment.
- If iPhone was in an active AT&T term commitment, the early termination fee should have been paid.
STEP 1: Go Settings > General > About and jot down your IMEI.
STEP 2: Call at this number 1-800-331-0500 or head over to AT&T’s Live Chat Session to talk to AT&T’s customer support representative.
STEP 3: They will ask you to give your IMEI (Step 1) and other required details.
STEP 4: They will email you within 24-48 hours stating your unlock is ready or not. It might take even more time in same cases.
STEP 5: The email will tell you exactly what to do to unlock your iPhone
Remeber restoring your phone will remove your jailbroken status and currently there is not an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1
- For the people who are not in USA but own an iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4 which is locked on AT&T: OK, the best option you have here is to contact AT&T support and give them your IMEI number. They will run some checks on your IMEI and tell you whether you’re eligible for an unlock or not. A lot of people are getting quick replies from AT&T that their iPhone has been unlocked successfully. Some iPhone users may have to wait for 72 hours and some user may have to wait for a week but if you are eligible then you’d have no issues at all.
- For the people who are in USA: then AT&T’s online chat support is the best option you have to get the ball rolling. But the problem is not for people who are living in USA it’s for those who’re not living in USA. People who’re not living in US can call AT&T’s Call Center and get in touch with AT&T’s support guy who will help you through the process, simple dial this +1-800-288-2020 number and that’s about it.
Completing Your Authorized iPhone Unlock
