If you recall guys, two contradictory iPad 3 rumors popped a short while ago, one says that the iPad 3 will support a quad-core A6 processor, while another claims that the next gen tablet will feature an upgraded dual core processor A5X.

9to5Mac`s Mark Gurman published a report today claiming that Apple is working on both processors, the A6 and the A5X according to code references in iOS 5.1. The A5X processor is referenced as S5L8945X and the A6 processor is referenced as S5L8950X.This information has been previously overlooked by researchers, but apparently it has been there all the time which means Apple has been working on something for quite some time now.

According to the report, Apple may have manufactured both processors to include the quad-core in the iPad 3 and the A5X in the rumored Apple TV set to roll out in March or it could be that the fruit company manufactured both to see which will fit better in the iPad 3.

Aside from the processor, the iPad 3 is said to feature a larger battery, a Retina Display, LTE and an 8 megapixel camera and as you know by now,it`s expected to roll out on March 9th.

If March 9th is accurate, then we have a few more days to put an end to rumors once and for all.

We`ll keep you updated.
