How cool would it be if objects can talk? How would you like it if your basement emails, tweets, or sends you a message to let you know it`s flooding? Too good to be true, right? Well, it`s true.

With the help of Twine, this can all be yours. Twine is a durable 2.5’’ square that provides Wi-Fi connectivity, internal and external sensors, and two AAA batteries. It has a complementary, user-friendly app that lets you tell your network connected objects via sensors what to say exactly. No programming required and you don`t have to be a codes savvy for this and that`s what`s really good about it, It`s an everyman project.

For example, you can plug a moisture sensor in your basement, and rely on Twine to let you know if your basement is flooding. Cool, don`t you think? In short, it allows you to create internet-connected systems and objects anywhere you have Wi-Fi through tight integration with a cloud-based service.

Twine is a wireless module packed with Wi-Fi, on-board temperature vibration sensors, and an expansion connector for other sensors. Power is supplied by the on-board USB or the two AAA batteries and as simple as that.

Twine comes with a tailored app which means this app is developed for Twine exclusively which makes the set up process really simple. No installation required, just point to your Wi-Fi network and the sensors are immediately recognized by the web app when you plug them in reflecting what the sensors see in real time.

This app lets you monitor your twines from a web browser anywhere. Using Spool, you can input your own rules in a simple way as if you are writing a simple English sentence. No programming or coding needed.

Twine, out of the box, has an internal temperature sensor and accelerometer and Superchemicals are working on making additional external sensors. That brings the initial total to:

Internal temperature sensor.

Internal accelerometer (for vibration, impact, and motion detection).

A magnetic switch (useful for doors and anything else that moves).

Moisture sensor (detect the presence of water).

Breakout board — provides analog or digital input, power and ground (allows you to easily wire up other sensors that you think up — no soldering required!).

Isn’t it just mesmerizing to know you can have an extra pair of eyes everywhere in your home.
