According to a report from Barrons, Scott Sutherland of Wedbush Securities is expecting Apple would release an LTE iPhone with an improved user interface in 2012.

Sutherland expects the newest iPhone to debut in October, along with "an iPhone targeting emerging markets and an LTE iPhone in 2012 with a "materially improved user interface," without explaining any further. The iPad’s competitors, moreover, will continue to struggle, he writes.

Apple has improved it’s notification center but the the iOS basic interface still the same since the first version of iOS.A material improvements to the operating system’s interface would be a first.
