According to 9to5Mac, Apple is now developing a Scanner app for iOS Devices. The app wouldn’t be very different from the current apps that allows you to take a picture and save it as pdf, But Apple will surely enhance the quality a lot more than current apps.

Here is how the app works:

  • you take a picture of the document you want to scan, then the app will resize the picture depending on the original document and aligning edges which will be skewed by a sigle scan point.
  • The app can recognize Text documents from image blocks.
  • Apple is reportedly is working on OCR (Optical Character Recognition), They are now comparing between on-device solutions or using alternative cloud methods for OCR.

Apple has already filed a trademark for ‘Noteworthy‘. It’s an iOS app that could be related to OCR capabilities. Also Apple has patents for this sort of Apps.
