After announcing their intent last month, Spotify Ltd. today released version 0.9.2, which introduces free mobile streaming for non-premium Spotify users. This update is available in the App Store for free, and should enable anyone without a Spotify Premium account to stream songs from the online library. Smartphone users will be able to listen to playlists created by themselves or friends, but tracks on the playlist will be shuffled. iPads have been classified a a PC, and will be able to build their own playlists and listen to any song they choose. What’s New in Version 0.9.2 • New: Spotify is now free on mobile and tablet! Listen to all your favourite artists and playlists in shuffle mode on mobile, and play any song, anytime on tablet. • Fixed: We’ve asked many bugs to leave. • Fictitious: This app likes twerking in libraries. As discussed in Spotify’s original announcement in December, the new mobile listening benefits are: Your music: Listen to all the playlists you’ve created and playlists from the people you follow. Spotify lets you discover new music, save, shuffle and share. Your favourite artists: Want to listen to a certain artist? Just hit shuffle play, sit back and listen to their entire catalogue. Don’t settle for something similar. Don’t settle for just one track from the artist you want to hear every 20 minutes. Discover great new playlists: Going for a jog or to the gym? We’ve got the playlist to help you go the extra mile. We know you just want the perfect music for a specific moment in time – and we’ve got you covered. There’s something for every mood, genre or moment.
