The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Tuesday granted Apple with a patent pertaining to a smart navigation system based on crowd-sourced traffic information, including when and how long motorists are at stop signs or stop lights. The information could then be used to predict delays attributable to the stop signs or lights and determine faster routes and departure time suggestions.Â
