iPhone’s battery isn’t easily user replaceable and lithium-ion batteries inevitably degrade a little every time they’re recharged it’s important you get the most out of iPhone’s battery while it lasts.
In this post I am going to show you some important tips and things you need to do to improve and protect your iPhone’s battery life..
1-Store and use the iPhone at room temperature
Your device is designed to perform well in a wide range of ambient temperatures, with 62° to 72° F (16° to 22° C) as the ideal comfort zone. It’s especially important to avoid exposing your device to ambient temperatures higher than 95° F (35° C), which can permanently damage battery capacity. That is, your battery won’t power your device as long on a given charge. Charging the device in high ambient temperatures can damage it further. Even storing a battery in a hot environment can damage it irreversibly. When using your device in a very cold environment, you may notice a decrease in battery life, but this condition is temporary. Once the battery’s temperature returns to its normal operating range, its performance will return to normal as well.

2-Enable the Auto-displays brightness
This will help your iPhone to choose the best brightness and reduce your device battery drain.
- Go to Settings
- Click on Brightness
- Set Auto-Brightness to On
3- Make sure to update to latest softwares
Apple software updates often include advanced energy-saving technologies, so always make sure your device is using the latest version of iOS, OS X, or Watch OS.
4-Battery Usage Screen
The first thing you should do is check the Battery Usage screen. iOS 8 can now tell you what apps is draining your battery. You can check out what apps you’ve used frequently in the 24 hours or the last seven days.
There are some things you can’t change like if you listen to a lot of podcasts and music but there are some apps that use more power than others.
To check the Usage screen, go to Settings—->General—>Usage—>Battery Usage
5-Background App Refresh and Push Notifications
With notification services and background app refresh on, your phone will push every single piece of data from apps like Instagram and Facebook to your screen when it come in. This means your iPhone is constantly checking the cloud for any new updates 24/7. And if you are in a place with spotty cell service, this will drain your battery even more because it is struggling to get a signal in order to receive data. You can turn it all off or choose individual apps.
Go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh to toggle this setting.
