Apple stops supporting .me and .mac AIM accounts on all OS X versions

A few months back, Apple announced that it would stop supporting .me and .mac AIM accounts on OS X 10.7.1 and earlier starting June 30th. The company has put this change into effect, but it appears that the service is discontinued all versions of OS X users, not just ones running older versions.
