While it was widely speculated that iPad 3 will be powered by a quad-core A6 system-on-chip, Apple launched the new iPad (3rd generation iPad) with a dual-core A5X system-on-chip, which includes a 12 core graphical processing unit.
So based on the trend we’ve seen since the launch of the iPad, we expect Apple to use a variant of A5X SoC in the next generation iPhone.
