With no official statement in sight, we will keep going on rumors. The latest we have comes from a recent report by the Japanese news organization Nikkei. According to the report, Apple is in the stages of producing an LTE 4G iPhone 5 and iPad 3.

The two rumored devices will launch on Japan`s NTT DoCoMo in summer and fall of 2012 respectively. It was already suspected that the two devices will roll out next year and that they `ll both have LTE 4G radios support to their networks. Nontheless, it`s still nice to hear rumors about it.

Apple CEO Tim Cook is said to have met with NTT DoCoMo president Kiyoyuki Tsujimura and VP Takashi Yamada earlier this month to work out the details of the arrangement, and the companies have reportedly reached agreeable terms.

As to the timing, summer and fall Japanese launches don’t preclude spring and summer U.S. releases, but as we saw with the iPhone 4S this year, Apple could move the timing around delivering us an iPad 3 instead of the old iPhone WWDC spot in 2012.I guess we will have to wait and see.
