Apple took stage today at their Town Hall building campus in Cupertino to announce new iPhones. Apart from iPhone 5S, they unveiled the new budget iPhone model or iPhone 5C as well. If you missed out the action surrounding 5C, here’s a recap of what Apple announced. 

Features

The handset will be running the dual-core A6 processor, the same as the one on iPhone 5. It is going to come with iOS 7 right out of the box.

Camera

The camera of the device is also the same as iPhone 5. It’s 8 megapixel with F/2.4 lens, much better than other smartphones available in the market.

Connectivity

The iPhone 5C is going to be compatible with 4G LTE. It also has other wireless standard features such as Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and more.

Home button

Unlike the iPhone 5S, the 5C’s Home button doesn’t include any fingerprint sensor and is going to provide the same function as on all other iPhones.

Battery

The battery is at 3,000 mAh. The handset will provide 10 hours of 3G talk time, 10 hours of LTE/Wi-Fi browsing, 8 hours of 3G browsing, 250 hours of standby time, 10 hours for video and 40 hours for music.

Price and availability

It’s going to be offered in only two storage options – 16 GB and 32 GB. The on-contract price is $99 and $199 respectively and off-contract price is $549 and $649 respectively.

The iPhone 5C goes up for pre-order on Friday, September 13th, and arrives in stores on September 20th. 


It is being offered in blue, red, yellow, white and green. There are custom cases available for it as well.
